Kailey Hetzel, Special to Horizons
Early morning on Saturday, October 23, the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta headed down to Phoenix together to support their philanthropy Autism Speaks with their yearly walk to raise money for autism research. They had great support from other Greek organizations on the Prescott campus, including their potential sweethearts who decided to participate in the walk alongside of them and raised well over $300 for their philanthropy. Over 20,000 people participated in the Autism Speaks Arizona Walk and the sisters all volunteered at the event to try to help this great organization reach their nationwide goal of $1,100,000 raised this year.
After the members of Alpha Xi Delta volunteered, they all joined together to walk the 5k and showed that they proudly support research and are constantly listening for ways to help and show love to those affected by autism. This is an event that happens every year, and the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta would love to see even more community support and participation with them in the years that lie ahead. They would also like to thank those who are currently supporting their philanthropy by donating to the cause and encouraging the sisterhood to grow and give their all to this cause.
